Archives

The defa-spektrum GmbH was founded in 2006 with the aim of managing and distributing the archives belonging to the DEFA-Foundation. At the moment she is handling five distinct archives. This unique collection of interviews and documentaries is a valuable resource complementing the DEFA film stock and shall be secured and made open to the public.

Distribution of photos and publications

Another task is the distribution of publications and photos owned by the DEFA-Foundation.

Distribution

Since 2007 the defa-spektrum GmbH started a distribution department for recent German films. It will bring films to the cinemas that invite to a travel through time and space, to people and special events.



Research

The entire archives’ stock is available online through defa-stiftung data base.        At this time you only can search in the german data base.
We are happy to help you and research according to your wishes fast and competent at all requests regarding the usage of film and photo materials for film or TV productions and publications.

Viewing and Transformation

We place our viewing facilities for 35mm, U-matic, Beta Sp, DigiBeta, miniDV, DVD and VHS at your disposal. Furthermore, we are happy to handle private and commercial transformations of our or other materials from these formats to DVD or VHS.
