On more than 8.000 hours of material people and events offer an impressive insight in the recent German history. People that reflect on extraordinary political, scientifical or artistic achievements, but also witnesses from daily life give their statements. They make the passed decades come to life.

The stock includes at this stage materials of the Contemporary Witnesses’ Archive Thomas Grimm, the Cintec Archive, the films of the GDR Ministry of Foreign Affairs, productions of the DEFA-Foundation and DVD extras.

The archives of the defa-spektrum GmbH shall be continously extended by acquiring stocks with adequate topics.
